Membership into the Civil Air Patrol is a privilege, and should not be taken lightly or without dedication into progressing through the ranks, developing yourself professionally, actively participating, and helping your fellow members, community, state, and nation.
Members are expected to notify the designated officer or next-in-command for their attendance status for weekly squadron meetings and special activities, even if attendance is not planned. This helps determine if thereโs enough members to hold the event and foresee Cadet Protection issues for the event.
Life can be crazy and hectic at times. Health, family, and scholastic responsibilities will take priority over your Civil Air Patrol responsibilities and duties. Please inform your next-in-command or squadron commander if youโre taking a leave from the squadron.
Members are expected to wear the appropriate uniforms, IAW CAPR 39-1, for meetings and activities. Weight and grooming standards should be met when wearing Air Force style uniforms
Cadets and senior members should pursue professional development and online learning opportunities whenever possible
Take your online learning modules (Learn to Lead, Aerospace Dimensions) as soon as possible when you achieve rank.
New members must complete Level 1 training online as soon as possible, in the first 60 days of membership. This is paramount to understanding our organization and starting your career in C.A.P.
Specialty tracks have learning and duty requirements at each level.
